VinFast launches EV rental program for ride-hailing drivers
VinFast launches EV rental program for ride-hailing drivers in the Philippines and Indonesia, boosting EV adoption.
VinFast has introduced an electric vehicle (EV) rental program for ride-hailing and transport service drivers in the Philippines, adding an alternative to outright vehicle purchases as the company pushes for wider EV adoption in the country.
Also introduced in Indonesia, the program, announced on April 8, allows drivers to rent from VinFast’s Green vehicle lineup through the company’s authorized dealership networks in both countries. It is designed to lower upfront costs for drivers looking to switch to electric vehicles amid ongoing global fuel price volatility.
Under the rental model, drivers pay a low upfront deposit, sign long-term contracts, and pay fixed daily rates starting at P1,000 in the Philippines and IDR312,500 in Indonesia. VinFast said this allows drivers to begin earning quickly without the financial burden of full vehicle ownership.
For drivers who prefer to own their vehicles, VinFast continues to offer financing solutions tailored for commercial use, with structured repayment schedules aligned to drivers’ income streams.
The program focuses on VinFast’s Green vehicle lineup, which includes the Herio Green and Limo Green models, designed for high-frequency transport services. The rollout will begin in Metro Manila and Greater Jakarta, with plans for gradual expansion across both markets.
Vinfast said it also offers free charging at V-Green stations through March 2029.
“Expanding access to electric vehicles in Indonesia and the Philippines represents VinFast’s next logical step in advancing the green transition of the commercial transport sector, which plays a critical role in achieving sustainable development goals,” said Duong Thi Thu Trang, deputy CEO of global automotive sales at VinFast. “This initiative not only provides drivers with a stable source of income, but also contributes to improved quality of life and lower emissions.”
VinFast’s parent company, Vingroup, is also rolling out supporting initiatives, including a Trade Gas for Electric program offering up to 3 percent of vehicle value as an additional incentive, and a 10 percent discount on Green SM electric ride fares in Indonesia through April 30, 2026.

Mazda CX-8: Quiet moment on the road matters for moms juggling it all
Mazda posted a video feautring Bianca King as CX-8 offers moms space, comfort, and ease.
Mazda Philippines, on May 6, posted a video of actress Bianca King as part of its Mother’s Day message. The video highlights the idea that for mothers who drive the Mazda CX-8, the vehicle offers space, comfort, and a ride that doesn’t demand constant attention.
The video captures how motherhood is rarely picture-perfect. There are beautiful days, there are overwhelming ones, and there are those moments when you’re folding laundry while helping with homework, planning dinner while stuck in traffic, and struggling to remember the last time you had five minutes to yourself.
In between daily routines, school runs, weekend errands, and the occasional quiet drive alone, finding balance isn’t just nice to have. It matters.
For some mothers, that’s enough. Less noise behind the wheel means more room to be present, not just for the kids in the backseat, but for themselves.
“To every mom showing up with love every single day, Happy Mother’s Day,” Mazda Philippines wrote.
No grand claims. Just an acknowledgment that the daily drive, much like motherhood itself, goes a little better when it’s not a struggle.
