BYD, DOT, ACMobility complete 3,500-Km EV convoy across Philippines, set two Guinness Records
BYD, DOT, ACMobility set two Guinness records in 3,500-km EV convoy across PH.
BYD Cars Philippines, in partnership with the Department of Tourism and ACMobility, has completed a 22-day electrified convoy traversing the country from north to south, covering 102 cities and municipalities and earning two Guinness World Records.
The “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” campaign involved a convoy led by adventurer Wil Dasovich, which started in Ilocos Norte and ended in General Santos City, island-hopping across Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. The journey officially set records for the most cities visited in a continuous journey by a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and by a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
The fleet included the BYD Shark 6 DMO, which the company said demonstrated its capabilities on mountain roads in Baguio and used vehicle-to-load technology to power equipment off-grid during a trek in Pampanga. In the metro, the convoy charged at Makati’s Corinthian Car Park using a 480 kW DC charger, which BYD described as the country’s fastest.
In Cebu, the team used the Shark 6’s V2L technology to power a DJ booth at BYD Cebu Central. The convoy also made stops in Moalboal for freediving, in Cagayan de Oro for whitewater rafting, and in Bukidnon for paragliding.
In Davao, the team visited the House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer to distribute care packages and stopped at the Kadayawan Tribal Village.
The journey relied on the ACMobility Philippine EV Spine Network, which includes more than 160 charging points across the country, located at Robinsons malls and provincial PTT stations, among other sites. BYD also noted its 79 dealerships nationwide and round-the-clock roadside assistance as support for the convoy.
The campaign concluded at BYD GenSan in General Santos City. BYD said the 3,500-kilometer journey and the number of cities visited demonstrate that nationwide EV travel is practical, even as fuel prices continue to rise.

Mazda CX-8: Quiet moment on the road matters for moms juggling it all
Mazda posted a video feautring Bianca King as CX-8 offers moms space, comfort, and ease.
Mazda Philippines, on May 6, posted a video of actress Bianca King as part of its Mother’s Day message. The video highlights the idea that for mothers who drive the Mazda CX-8, the vehicle offers space, comfort, and a ride that doesn’t demand constant attention.
The video captures how motherhood is rarely picture-perfect. There are beautiful days, there are overwhelming ones, and there are those moments when you’re folding laundry while helping with homework, planning dinner while stuck in traffic, and struggling to remember the last time you had five minutes to yourself.
In between daily routines, school runs, weekend errands, and the occasional quiet drive alone, finding balance isn’t just nice to have. It matters.
For some mothers, that’s enough. Less noise behind the wheel means more room to be present, not just for the kids in the backseat, but for themselves.
“To every mom showing up with love every single day, Happy Mother’s Day,” Mazda Philippines wrote.
No grand claims. Just an acknowledgment that the daily drive, much like motherhood itself, goes a little better when it’s not a struggle.
