Ford Philippines has introduced a limited-edition Rear-Wheel Drive variant of the Mustang Mach-E, expanding its electric vehicle lineup nearly a year after the launch of the All-Wheel Drive version.

The Mustang Mach-E RWD is available at a starting price of P2,599,000, which includes a P500,000 cash discount from its standard retail price of P3,199,000, plus an additional P100,000 discount for the Grabber Yellow color option, the company announced on April 8.

The RWD variant is powered by a single permanent magnet motor on the rear axle, producing 276ps and 525Nm of torque. Ford said the vehicle offers an estimated driving range of up to 615 kilometers on a single charge, which exceeds the range of the dual-motor AWD variant.

Three selectable drive modes are available: Whisper, which softens steering and throttle response; Engage, which balances comfort and performance for everyday use; and Unbridle, which sharpens handling and acceleration.

The vehicle also features a 1-Pedal Drive system that allows acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal. Lifting off the pedal activates regenerative braking, which slows the vehicle and recovers energy for the battery.

Exterior features include a fastback silhouette, tri-bar tail lamps, a frameless grille with active shutters, LED projector headlamps, and 19-inch machine-finished aluminum wheels. The E-Latch door system replaces conventional handles, with buttons on the B-pillar and rear door frames for access.

Inside, the Mach-E RWD comes with perforated ActiveX synthetic leather seats offering 10-way power adjustment for the driver and front passenger, heated front seats, dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, and rear air vents. A 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.5-inch capacitive touchscreen running SYNC 4A with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included.

Cargo capacity is listed at 402 liters behind the rear seats and 1,420 liters with the rear seats folded down. An 80-liter front trunk, or “frunk,” is available due to the absence of a combustion engine.

The vehicle is compatible with the Ford App, which allows remote start, stop, climate control, and battery management functions, including charge status, charge session details, and charge history.

Ford Philippines managing director Pedro Simoes said the addition of the RWD variant is intended to provide customers with a choice focused on efficiency and long-range capability.

The Mustang Mach-E RWD will be sold at Ford Alabang, Ford Balintawak, Ford Cebu, Ford EDSA, Ford Global City, Ford Libis, and Ford Marikina.
